Ghost Vision - This is definately a trick for the more casual performer. Designed by Andrew Mayne, it is perfect for spooking your mates out on Halloween. You can borrow their mobile phone and either take a photo or create a movie using it. When you play it back to them, in the photo/video ghostly figures can be seen, despite the fact they have just seen you film/photograph that exact same area a few seconds prior and no one was there!

The Bicycle Haunted Deck - one, two or three cards are selected by the spectator and placed back inside the deck. You ask the spectator to concentrate on the deck, and eerily the chosen cards slide away from the rest of the deck by themselves.

The Web - known as the scariest card trick in the world! A trick that starts out innocently and ends with a big jump! You look as though you are performing a normal card trick, when you ask the spectator to wave their hand over the cards, they see they have a realistic spider on their hand! When performed in the right environment and on the right spectator you can get an incredible reaction!

 
Psychokinetic Touches -Banachek - This booklet gives you detailed instructions on how to make a spectator feel two solid taps on their body although know one is near them! Perfect for setting up your own sceance!
Haunted Key - this trick is great if you’re new to magic, it requires no skill and can scare your spectators. You can tell a story about the key being found to a haunted house. You then take the key and place it in your hand and by itself, the key mysteriously rolls over. It can be examined by the spectator at any point during the performance.

You can use this font for many different types of routines for example, you ask a spectator his name, lets say the name is George which you write on a white board, you then perform a classic “add a number” routine and get a final figure. When you turn the board with ‘George’ on it upside down the font actually looks like a series of numbers, which would be your climax to your “add a number” routine. If you look at the picture on the left of this email it will give you a better idea of what it’s about. This font can be learnt so you can do it by hand or printed out. It’s a great idea and something different for your Mentalism routine which adds a extra kicker of an ending! Check out the site to see what we mean!Postmentalism by Alvo Stockman – This is another clever idea in for Metalists which allows you to predict ANYTHING in an unusual way! It’s not really ideal for corporate performances but great if you perform regularly for a person or group. We can see this going down really well if you are having a series of meetings with the same client. To the spectator you will create a miracle! Here’s what happens - you can make whatever prediction you like before an event eg football score, lottery numbers, election etc. You agree with a friend that in the interest of security neither of you should hold onto the prediction, so decide to post it in any post box. The day after the event, whether you are there or not, your friend receives your prediction in their own house through the post – 100% correct! It is an absolute stunner!!! How can this be…Captured – This is another incredible trick that is new to MagicTricks. You give the spectator something familiar to hold and concentrate on such as a deck of cards. A Polaroid camera is used to take a photo of your spectators, and incredibly their thoughts slowly and visually appear in the photo you have just taken of them! All they can do is stare in disbelief!

Magic Tricks does Magic for Children’s learning.

Magic tricks should be taught at every school to all students, researchers have just found out. Researcher have concluded that teaching Magic Tricks to children boosts their self confidence, and social skills while enhancing the logical, analytic and problem solving part of the brain.  These results come at a time where Children’s BBC television programme Sorcerers Apprentice is becoming very popular with Children.

The change in the Children invovled in the test were so amazing that Richard Wiseman from the University of Herfordshire asked for magic tricks to be added to the national curriculum.  Professor  Wiseman concluded that teaching children even simple easy tricks helped them in  a number of ways.

Magic forces the Children in a fun and interactive way to master the magic tricks, problem solving skills in working out how tricks works and helps them create a likable behaviour needed to entertain your audience successfully.

The outcome of the classes where they have to master and demonstrate one magic trick in front of other pupils was  to enhance their emotional intelligence skills, their confidence and self- esteem.

60 students aged between 10 to 12 from from two Hertfordshire schools took part in the experiments.  They were taught magi tricks during personal social and health PSHW

Professor Richard Wiseman told the British Association conference in Liverpool that learning magic tricks at magic school was far more effective than the self-esteem and confidece lessons that already exists in schools.

Professor Wiseman said magic pushed children to look at important issues from other people’s perspectives, which he argued could reduce bullying. Because magicians have to know what an audience will look for as they try to work out how the magic is done, children have to look at a trick from the spectators viewpoint.

Magic is fun and so it is well known that kids consume information much quicker and easier when they are enjoying what they are doing! Professor Wiseman said that magic should be included in the PSHE curriculum: “The improvements we saw were great. Kids love the idea of going to magic school like Harry Potter.”

“This is an interesting way of moti-vating children to think. Solving magic tricks is all about critical thinking. Learning magic requires self-discipline, an understanding of how other people think, and an ability to entertain.

“Unlike playing computer games, it encourages children to interact with their friends and family.

“Because of this, we thought it might be a unique and effective way of developing an important set of psychological skills.”

Magic Tricks included one called the cut and restored rope and others were Derren Brown type mind reading magic tricks.

Magic Tricks help research project!

Research carried out at Durham University claim that if we turn into magicians we can better understand how humans think and act.

Durham univerity researchers claim methods used by magicians like David Blaine, Derren Brown, Criss Angel and Daivd Copperfield to manipulate perception could be used to improve the next generation of computers.

They developed a series of magic tricks as part of a research project with colleagues from British Columbia.

The team say attempts to link magic and human cognition have been largely ignored by modern psychology. The researchers say their findings have potential long-term applications in activities which aim to grab people’s attention, such as human-computer interfaces, which are thought to become increasingly more complicated.

‘Laws of physics’

Dr Gustav Kuhn, who works in Durham University’s psychology department but is also a practising magician, said: “Magicians are in some ways miles ahead of scientists.

“For example, imagine a ball tossed into the air that suddenly disappears, or someone successfully predicting what you will do next.

“These tricks may seem like they defy the laws of physics and logic but they are actually created through a combination of skill and a deep knowledge of human psychology.

“By drawing upon the practical knowledge and experience of magicians, scientists may obtain new insights into various areas of human perception and cognition that we are still struggling to understand.

“Although the methods we have developed are proving very useful in investigating the mind, in our dual roles as scientists and magicians, we take great care in protecting the mysteries and secrets of magic.”

Hello again, we hope you are well. We know we only emailled you last Friday and it is unusual for
us to write to you again in such a short space of time but we wanted to inform you of an exciting new
effect which has been released by us today and give you the first chance at getting your hands
on it before we advertise it and send press releases out to the magic media.

Colin Gilbert, the Inventor and Maker of the original Linking Polo, has just brought out
his brand new effect called Easy-Monte and once again, Magictricks.co.uk are the exclusive dealers for this item! This brand new trick, is an easy modern version of one of the most classic
con/gambling effects such as The Pea and Shell Game. Easy-Monte doesn’t require any skill but
looks like incredible sleight of hand. It uses 3 specially made bottle tops and a 10 pence piece.
No matter which bottle cap the spectator believes the coin to be under they will ALWAYS be wrong!
What we liked so much about this item, apart from it having an extremely clever method is that
it really is an effect that can be used in so many genres of magic. It can be used as a gambling
demo, a piece of street magic, a pub trick, but it would also go down really well at a professional
corporate close up gig or trade show. This effect is ideal for beginners to pro’s and will last a
lifetime. It is a trick that you will always perform because it plays big, can be performed surrounded

If you haven’t already seen it, the Silver Impression is an incredible trick that allows you to take a 10 pence piece, get a spectator to sign it and in front of their eyes you appear to melt and stretch the coin and then finish the trick by smashing your thumbprint into the melted coin and leave an impression melted onto the 10 pence piece. Personally, we love the look of the stretching part of the trick, it is so visual that the spectator really believe that you have some hot device up your sleeve or something! Phork is definitely for the professional and is unusally more expensive then the other items we stock, but once we saw it we had to stock it as it is so good! This incredible new trick, is a break through in mind bending technology! It allows the fork to actually bend in the spectator hands!

You take some forks and ask a spectator to hold one in his hands. You instruct the spectator to gently rub the fork and imagine it getting soft, like rubber. Slowly, the fork bends over until it is almost bent in half on your spectators hands. This is a remarkable experience that your audience will remember forever. It can be fully examined, there’s nothing to find out. A true miracle.

Please don’t confuse this with similar fork bends: After the setup Phork will remain straight at room temperature. It will slowly start to bend only when touched with body heat

Unlike YouTube.com where you have to search through thousands of videos that can be unrelated to what you are looking for, MagicTricks.tv has handpicked videos that only contain magic.

There are already over a thousand online magic videos up on the site all indexed from YouTube for you to watch now, and we have sorted them into a range of different genres of magic to help narrow down your search even more.

One of the best features of MagicTricks.tv is that it has its own member community. This means you can sign up to become a member of MagicTricks.tv for free and add your favourite magic videos to share with the rest of the World. Videos can be anything from your favourite magician, to yourself performing your favourite tricks. We are also hosting all products videos and demonstrations from www.MagicTricks.tv We will be vetting all the videos that are placed on the site, to ensure that only video relating to magic is maintained.
